Use Flickr to Find FREE Images to Use in Your Blog Posts

To grab and keep a reader’s attention, it is always important to add photos or images to your blog posts.  However, if you’re not a photographer with you own stash of photos to use, this can be tricky.  You can subscribe to stock photo sites, but you will be spending money for the pictures you use.

One great and easy-to-use source of free images is Flickr.  BUT, you can’t just grab any Flickr image and post it on your blog.  To find images you can use, click on the Advanced Search option in Flickr.

On the Advanced Search page, enter the type of image you are searching for.  Then scroll down to the bottom of the screen where you will see this logo and click on “Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content”. If your blog is a nonprofit, that is all you need to do, then just hit search. However, if you blog for profit, you will also need to select “Find content to use commercially”. You will then find images that you can use in your post.

Once you find the image you want, click on the “Share” button and then copy the Grab the HTML/BBCode to use in your post.
